Gerald B. Lurie joined Chen Nelson Roberts Ltd. on January
1, 2009. Upon graduating from DePaul University College of
Law in 1969, Gerry served for four years as a special agent
with the Illinois Bureau of Investigation, and then for two
years as the real estate staff attorney at United Charities
Legal Aid Bureau. In 1976, Gerry joined the Chicago firm of
Rudnick & Wolfe as a litigation associate, was admitted to
partnership, and continued to practice in the firm’s
litigation department through its evolution into DLA Piper
LLP (US). During his tenure at DLA Piper, Gerry represented
clients in a wide variety of commercial cases litigated in
state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the
United States Court of Appeal for the Seventh Circuit and
the Illinois Supreme Court. He also represented clients in
arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association and
other alternative dispute resolution bodies. Gerry’s
experience includes the representation of owners of office
and retail properties in the gamut of ownership issues,
encompassing landlord/tenant disputes, mechanics lien
matters and municipal code compliance issues. He has also
represented office and retail tenants in landlord /tenant
disputes. At Chen Nelson Roberts Ltd., Gerry will continue
to draw upon his thirty years of litigation experience to
provide focused, cost effective representation of the
highest quality to clients of the firm.
